A Different Thanksgiving, but Still Thankful

I started of Thanksgiving by running a Turkey Day 5k with my girl Amber! We finally got to run a race a together and we did AWESOME! We both broke our last 5k record and did better than we hoped to do. We were able to run together almost the entire race. We make a great running team and I can't wait for our next race in two weeks!

Sara unfortunately came down with the flu on Wednesday so we had to skip all family visiting on Thursday. Evan came down with it on late Thursday afternoon. I was determined to make the best of it so I cooked my first Thanksgiving meal. It was a scaled down version but we made it work.

Chad is off on his usual duck hunting trip!

We will be spending the rest of our break lounging around and hoping everyone is well by Monday.

It was different this year but I am extremely thankful for Chad, my kids, family, and friends. I am truly blessed!

Ruuning, Running, Running

I have been doing a good bit of running lately. I am currently running about three days a week sometimes four. I still don't think of myself as a "runner." I might take on the title once I have more races under my feet. I am signed up for several races in the next couple of months.

I am looking forward to doing these races!!!

Thanksgiving Day

December 1

January 13: I am most excited about this one! It will be the longest race I have ever done!

I might be seriously considering doing this one

This has become my slogan lately.

A Trip to the Zoo

We took our first trip to the Atlanta Zoo today. Sara has been begging to go for a while, so Gigi and GaPa bought her tickets for her birthday. If anyone who doesn't know, Sara HATES animals. She screams at anything that is not human. If a dog, cat, bird, lizard or any creature looks at her she has a complete meltdown. Needles too say we were not sure how she was going to react today. She of course totally shocked all of us. She was ecstatic to be there. She LOVED  every animal she saw. She even went into the Reptile house and saw the snakes. Her favorite was the panda and the zebra. She wasn't brave enough to feed the giraffe with Evan but she did go into a petting zoo and really enjoyed it. We had a great time and finshed off our trip with a yummy lunch at The Varsity.

Here are a few pictures from today. Unfortunately the only pictures I was able to take was when we stopped for the carousel and the train ride. Luckily my dad took a ton.

Lately....

We have been EXTREMELY busy!!! This weekend was the first time since September that we did not have to go somewhere. We have spent our time celebrating birthdays, and weddings.  It was so nice and a much needed. We will be picking back up our busy pace this weekend with a birthday celebration and a trip to the Zoo.

My cousin April got married and I was honored to share her special day with her.

The kids had a great time Trick or Treating. We live a huge neighborhood. We ran out of candy by 8:00 and gave out over a 1,000 pieces!!

We had some family pictures taken this weekend by my fabulous brother-in-law and sister. He did a super job and I love them!

Duck season is around the corner!

My new love of running is still in full swing.

Happy Monday!
